Shirley Ann Gibbs (Capello) Obituary (1939

Shirley Ann Gibbs was born August 15, 1939 in Wichita Falls, Texas to James & Estelle Capello. She entered into life with her Savior on Sunday June 18, 2023 surrounded by her family. Shirley grew up in Kilgore, Texas where she graduated from Kilgore High School and Kilgore Junior College. She later moved to Dallas where she met her husband of 60 years, Robert Gibbs Jr.. She was a dedicated homemaker, who faithfully provided for her family. She was an active member of Oak Crest Baptist Church, where she volunteered in the children's ministry, vacation bible school and the bereavement committee. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Sherman. Shirley is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Gibbs, Jr. Daughter Kim Acevedo and husband Frank and son Robert Gibbs III. Her grandchildren Justin Johnson (Whitney), Jarred Johnson (Melissa), Marcos Acevedo, Sydney Roper (Trent) and Kaylee Gibbs. Great grandchildren Raylee Johnson, Jayden Johnson, Rylan Johnson, Gunnar Johnson, Jessi Acevedo and Marcos Acevedo. To honor and celebrate Shirley's life, the family has planned a visitation on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 6 to 8 in the evening. A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:30 in the morning in the chapel of Midlothian Funeral Home with Blain Craig officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Johnson, Jarred Johnson, Marcos Acevedo, Jayden Johnson, Rylan Johnson and Kevin Kindrick. Burial will follow at Midlothian Cemetery.
