Rogers Charles "Chick" Ray Obituary (1926

Rogers C. "Chick" Ray went to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, September 19, 2016. Chick was born on March 15, 1926 to Eugene and Johnie Ray. He was one of 14 children. Chick served in the Army and was a proud veteran. He loved and respected his country. He was also a man of great faith and served God with his giving nature. On February 5, 1966 he married his true love...Virginia Powers Ray. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2016. They were married for 50 years and this marriage produced his pride and joy, his son, Charles Wayne. Charles preceded him in death on November 1, 2007. Chick was a truck driver for TXI for 29 years. He received many awards for safe driving. When he retired, it didn't last long. In 1993 he went to work for Manna House and worked there for 16 years. He loved helping people. Chick is survived by one brother, Sam Ray of California, one brother-in-law and wife, Johnnie and Margaret Powers of Arlington, his girls, Darlene Henderson, Elizabeth Dixon, Sissie Franklin, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Margaret West and Linda Lott.
