Robert Garner

–

Ennis, Texas

It is with profound soundness that we must say goodbye to our beloved Robert Otis Garner, who passed on September 3, 2026. He was born in Dallas, TX on February 7, 1949. He lived a life filled with laughter, love, and generosity. He grew up in Venus, TX, where he enjoyed playing football at his high school, with his little brother Jimmy and he adored his only sister, Betha.

Rob valued his family above all else. The love he had for his children, Michael Garner, Toni Beech, and Dereck Trull, was endless, and the joy he found in his grandchildren, Tori McGuriman, Connor Beech, Ashlee Garner, and Evan Garner, was immense. He also had a close bond and true love for all of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Joe Garner, the love of his life, Pattie, and his two older brothers, Ray Morris and Hank Garner. Rob was a Vietnam Veteran, a retired buyer for Chaparral Steel, and an artist in his own right. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, old western movies, and spending quality time with his loved ones. He was a true artist, crafting leather belts, cedar chests, wood carvings, and drawings, and loved to share his creations with his loved ones.

A celebration of Rob's life, filled with his laughter and love, will be held at the Midlothian Funeral Home, 200 East Avenue E, Midlothian, Texas, 76065, on Saturday, 12 Sep 2026. Visitation will be at 1:00pm CDT, with the celebration of life following at 2:00pm CDT.

In remembering Rob, we encourage you to remember him with fondness and affection. Share your memories and photos of him on his memorial page, and let's celebrate the life of a man who was as thoughtful and loyal as he was funny. As we remember Rob, let us all strive to live by his example, cherishing our loved ones, sharing our laughter, and never forgetting to start each day with love and joy in our hearts.
