Nita Kay Windham Obituary (1941

Nita Kay Windham, 76, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in Ellis County. Born on June 20, 1941 in Decatur, TX to Clifton Truman and Gladys Smith Hunter. A graduate of the University of North Texas, she was a retired educator from the Pine Tree Independent School District in Longview, Texas. She also taught school in Midland, Grapevine, Irving, Corpus Christi and McAllen, Texas. She enjoyed traveling to the Southern Gospel Singing conventions as well as spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. Nita was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Joseph Duke Windham, parents, Clifton and Gladys Hunter and sister, Betty Clayton. She is survived by her sons, Scott and Karrie Windham of Denton, TX Brian and Janet Windham of Midlothian, grandchildren, Blake and Rebecca Windham, Andrew Windham and Joshua Hunter Windham and great-grandson, Bradley Windham all of Midlothian. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice. Burial will be at Chico Cemetery in Chico, TX.
