Maria Mcghee

Maria McGhee, loving wife, patient mother, amazing grandmother, wonderful friend and neighbor was called to heaven on Saturday, November 24, 2018 surrounded by her family. Maria was born in a refuge camp outside of Frankfort, Germany on May 5, 1950. Her family immigrated to the United States and she spent the first half of her life around Akron, Ohio. Maria moved to Texas in 1992, ultimately calling Red Oak, TX her home. Electrical technician by trade, Maria held a variety of positions around Dallas in the technology sector. She was a talented woman who could accomplish must anything including a successful custom online sewing hobby. Maria's greatest joy was found in her 12 grandchildren, who lovingly called her, Grandma Rie. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ludwig and Michael and parents, Theodore and Anna Kurylo from Ohio. Maria is survived by her husband, Mac (Thomas) McGhee, brother, Ernie and Jenny Kurylo, children and grandchildren, Kevin and Christina, Devin (Brandon), Kyle and Christian Longville, Amy and Jeremy, Bryce, and Marianne Hammar, Jennifer and Chris, Katie and Josh (Watkins), David and Jay Massie, Sam and Kim, Gwen and Trinity McGhee, Sam and Katie (Freeman) McGhee, Nathan McGhee, Banjo, Flossie and Annie and nieces and nephews. Though she leaves a hole in our lives, it is filled with happy memories of a woman who loved us all, shared our joys, offered us comfort and always had a seat at her kitchen table for us.
