Loy Marie Forbes (West)

–

Midlothian, Texas

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loy Marie Forbes, who peacefully left us on June 29, 2024. Loy was born on December 7, 1936, in Chillicothe, to Hubert Loyd West and Jody Zemina Dillon. She grew up in Aspermont, where she graduated from Aspermont High School, forging lifelong friendships and building the foundations of her remarkable life.

Loy's life was defined by her warmth, generosity, and boundless enthusiasm for the simple joys of living. She found immense happiness in shopping, traveling, hosting vibrant parties, and, above all, spending time with her cherished family. Loy's home was always a haven of laughter, love, and memorable gatherings, where everyone felt welcomed and celebrated.

On December 11, 1970, Loy married the love of her life, Bill Forbes. Together, they shared a beautiful journey until Bill's passing, creating countless memories and a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of their family.

Loy is survived by her devoted daughters, Deweylene LePori and her husband Mark, and Sidney Harper and her husband Bobby Harper. She was the proud grandmother of Jocelyn Craft, Reagan Barber, Ryan Schweitzer, and Kristin Jones, and the great-grandmother of Tanner and Tyler Renolds, Austin and Jacob Craft, and Dylan and Kylie Jones. Loy also leaves behind her dear sister, Jimmie Fern Day, who shared in many of her life's adventures.

Preceding Loy in death were her beloved husband, Bill Forbes; her parents, Loyd and Jodie West; and her brother, Jack West. Though they are no longer with us, their memories continue to bring comfort and joy to those who knew and loved them.

A devoted Baptist, Loy's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her spiritual strength and unwavering belief in kindness and service were evident in her every action. She was a true embodiment of love and grace, touching the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

As we celebrate Loy's life, we remember her not only for the joy she brought to others but also for her adventurous spirit. Her love for travel took her to many wonderful places, each trip enriching her life and those she traveled with. Her ability to host lively and heartfelt gatherings made her the heart of many cherished moments.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Loy's memory by embracing the joys of life--spend time with loved ones, explore new places, and create memories that will last a lifetime, just as Loy did.

Loy Marie Forbes will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her loving spirit, generous heart, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. May she rest in peace, forever loved and never forgotten.
