Joyce Holveck (Brumbeloe)

–

Midlothian, Texas

Joyce Brumbeloe Holveck was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, in Midlothian, Texas. She was born on a Sunday, October 25, 1931 in Midlothian, the daughter of John Walker Brumbeloe and Mary Elizabeth (Stovall) Brumbeloe.

On September 20, 1949, Joyce married her true love, Morris Ladell (Gunny) Holveck. They resided in Midlothian, Dallas, Cedar Hill, then Carrollton, and returned to Midlothian where they lived close to their children and grandchildren for 24 years. Joyce worked in the insurance industry in Dallas, and retired from American Re-Insurance Company.

Her passion was her immediate and extended family. She loved reunions and gatherings for the Brumbeloes and Holvecks, as they were all very dear to her. Her hobbies included quilting, photography, music, travel and camping. Joyce and Morris were members of the Cedar Hill Church of Christ, where they worshiped and enjoyed fellowship with many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother - John and Mary ; her husband of 66 years - Morris ; brothers - Finis Brumbeloe, Jake Brumbeloe, and Ward Brumbeloe ; sisters - Cleo Mills-Coffin, Frances Hedgepeth, and twin sister Lois Duvall.

Joyce is survived by her children - Janet Holveck, Judi Brown and husband, Alan, and Stuart Holveck ; grandchildren - Brandon Brown and Joseph Shin, Randi Cooper and husband, Randy, Weston Brown, Hayden Brown and wife, Lindsey ; great grandchildren - Meranda Cooper and Hudson Brown ; brother-in-law - Cecil Duvall ; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Joyce lived nine months at Timber Rock House in Midlothian before her homegoing. The family would like to thank the owners and staff for their loving and extraordinary care of our precious Mother and Grandmother.
