Midlothian, Texas
Jon Windale Few passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, at the age of 87.
Jon was born on June 10, 1939, to Royal Windell Few and Pauline Hassell Few of Midlothian, Texas. He graduated from Midlothian High School and went on to attend Texas A&M University in College Station.
A celebrated football player, Jon was recruited to Texas A&M by legendary coach Paul “Bear” Bryant. Following college, he signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
In 1961, Jon married the love of his life, Hallie Williams Few. Together, they built a life and family in Midlothian and raised two daughters, Kelly Few Benner and Julie Few Stephenson.
Jon was a cattle rancher throughout his life, a pursuit that remained an enduring part of who he was. He also joined his father in the family real estate business, Few & Few, in downtown Midlothian. When his father retired, the business became Jon Few Real Estate. Jon later continued his career with Kansas City Southern Railroad, where he was responsible for acquiring and managing properties.
A lifelong resident of Midlothian, Jon was deeply connected to the community he called home. He served on numerous city boards and committees and, while his daughters were in school, was the voice of Midlothian Panther football.
Those who knew Jon will remember his quick wit, his gift for telling a good story, his generosity, and the toughness and determination that carried him from the football field through a lifetime of ranching, business, and service to his community. Above all, he was devoted to his family. He took great pride in his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and some of his happiest times were spent with the people he loved and on the land that was such an important part of his life.
Jon is survived by his two daughters, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hallie Williams Few; his sister, Patricia Few Stinson; and his parents, Royal Windell Few and Pauline Hassell Few.
Jon lived his 87 years with strength, humor, loyalty, and a deep sense of where he belonged. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the stories they will continue to tell, and the Midlothian community he called home throughout his life.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
