Geary Dan Barrett Obituary (1953

Geary "Dan" Barrett went to glory on February 9th at the age of 66. He was born in Dallas, TX on February 18th, 1953. Dan entered the military in 1972 and married Sheryl Daman on January 27th, 1973. While proudly serving in the United States Air Force, Dan and Sheryl lived in Plattsburg, NY. They moved back to "the great state of Texas" in 1976 where Dan worked for the United States Postal Service for twenty-seven years. Dan had many hobbies. A few of these included: fishing, photography, and gardening. Dan loved people and had a heart for children. For many years, he coached his sons' and nieces' in youth sports. He also served for a time as children's pastor at Lighthouse Church. Dan Barrett is preceded in death by his parents Foy and Odell Barrett, his brother Ronnie, and his son Dennis. He is survived by his wife Sheryl, his son Geary Barrett and wife Shelly, his son Aaron Barrett and wife Sabrina. His grandchildren gave him great joy, and he was proud of each of them. The grandkids are Josiah, Mackenzie, Layla, and Rhett. Dan is also survived by his sisters June Bell and Susie Barton, and many loving nieces and nephews.
