Kennedale, Texas
With love and admiration, we celebrate the life of Ellen Jean Erickson, born on the 11th of April, 1940 in Sparta, Wisconsin, and called home to glory on the 17th of September, 2026. Known affectionately as "Jean," her life was a testimony of resilience, service, and love. A thoughtful soul, her generosity was not just confined to her loved ones, but extended to everyone in her community of Midlothian, Texas.
Ellen’s early career as a nurse bore testament to her generous spirit and compassion for others. She later focused that dedication on her family. She dreamed early on of finding true love and having a family. That dream began on August 24th, 1963 when she married Terry Erickson. They had three children while living in Madison, Wisconsin. The whole family then moved to Duncanville, TX in the summer of 1978 when Terry was transferred for his job. A few years after being widowed in 1997 she downsized to a cute new house in Midlothian, TX.
She loved reading, singing in the choir, and volunteering at church until her health no longer permitted. She loved to attend the grandkids’ activities when they were younger; and was always being supportive even as they all grew up. She loved to watch game shows in the latter years and play Bingo.
Ellen’s most cherished treasures were her family and her faith. She is loved by and survived by her children: Lori Beggs and her husband Stephen, Joel Erickson and his wife Lee Ann, and Jill Stottlemire and her husband Jason. She was loving grandmother to Matthew Beggs and his wife Erin, Cole Stottlemire, Sarah Lediaev, and Marissa Stottlemire. She has two great-granddaughters, Maiya and Lilia whom she adored. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Edwards and his wife Lorene, sister-in-laws Naomi Gourley and Judie Erickson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Esther Edwards, her beloved husband, Terry Erickson, brother-in-law, Curtis Erickson, sister-in-law, Maribeth Stair and her husband Stephen. Ellen's legacy will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched. Her faithful spirit, her laughter, and her loving heart will be remembered fondly.
