Drue Marcus Luther

–

Midlothian, Texas

Drue Marcus Luther, a remarkable and charismatic man, was born on May 5, 1948, in Dallas, Texas and spent his final years in the peaceful community of Midlothian, Texas. A talented individual with a creative spirit, Drue was a dynamic force in the world of stereo design and installation. His passion for music and sound led him to establish a successful stereo business, where he put his ingenuity and technical skills to use, creating exceptional sound experiences for his many clients. He made quite a name for himself and his business by designing and installing a 4,000watt stereo system in a Camaro that toured throughout the United States from 1984 to 1987. The car was displayed at NAM shows, CES electronic shows, Autorama, World of Wheels, Super Chevy Sunday Events, Reunion Arena Concerts, Sales Promotions, featured in national Japanese magazines, Car and Driver Super Chevy Magazine, and Autosound Communications. He was presented an award/recognition from George Barris the designer and builder of Hollywood custom cars such as the Batmobile and the Munster Koach.

Drue’s resilience and generous nature were evident in all aspects of his life. In the face of professional and personal challenges, he remained steadfast, never letting things keep him down for long. He would bounce back with optimism and begin anew. He began using his woodworking skills to make a little income. Later he moved into a small building on his grandson’s property converting it to a tiny-home for himself to live in. He stayed busy until the end.

In addition to his successful career and intriguing hobbies, Drue’s life was enriched by the love and companionship of his family. He is survived by his ex-wife Christina (Tina) Luther, his grandson Bryan Drue Luther, and his son Shawn Luther. Drue was preceded in death by his mother Iwana Luther Harvey, his son Bryan Ashley Luther, and his grandparents Clura Byars and Walter Lyle. His life will be celebrated at a future date, yet to be determined. As Albert Schweitzer once said, “The tragedy of life is what dies inside a man while he lives.” Drue truly lived until the very end, his spirit and zest for life never wavering.

We invite all who knew and loved Drue to share their memories and upload photos of him to his memorial page. Let us remember him not for his departure but for the way he lived, full of talent, creativity, generosity and resilience. As we bid farewell to Drue, let’s celebrate his life and remember the joy and laughter he brought into our lives.
