Donald Nelson Lish

Donald Nelson Lish died peacefully on Nov. 21, 2024 just a few days before his 91st birthday. Born in 1933 in Dallas, TX to Russell & Louise Lish, Don grew up with a love of horses, cool cars, and hard work. Don was known for his strength of character, his love of family, love of God and commitment to his church, his love of a good garage sale bargain, and most of all, for his love of his wife, Barbara Ann Shillingburg Lish. They were together in marriage for 62 years until Mom passed in 2019. Dad has been ready to reunite with her every day since then! After a short stint in the Army in Panama, Dad attended North Texas State University where he met Mom. Dad's professional career spanned over 40 years as a claims adjuster for Crawford & Company Claims Adjusters until his retirement. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, and is survived by his sister, Louella Armstrong of Waco, TX; son, Mike Lish and wife, Lynn, of Prosper, TX; son, David Lish and wife, Krista, of Caldwell, TX; and son, Mark Lish, and wife, Melissa, of Midlothian, TX; and 8 adoring grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Fri., Nov. 29th, at Midlothian Funeral Home - 200 E. Ave. E, Midlothian, TX. Services will be at First Methodist Church of Midlothian - 800 S. 9th St., Midlothian, TX, 10:30 a.m., Sat. Nov. 30, 2024.
