In Loving Memory of Cheryl Shelley

It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of my beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Cheryl. She was the heart of our family — a devoted wife, a wonderful mother to our two sons, a proud grandmother, and a great friend.
Cheryl was born in Buffalo, NY on June 18, 1950 to Frank and Connie Talani. She moved to Texas with her family when she was nine years old. She graduated from Bishop Dunne Catholic School and started working at Minyard's grocery store where she met the love of her life, Bud.

Family was the cornerstone of her existence, bringing her pride and joy. She was a dedicated homemaker who built a loving, nurturing environment for her family with unparalleled grace and devotion. Cheryl’s radiant smile, thoughtful nature, generosity, grace, and joyful spirit still echo in the hearts and minds of her loved ones. Cheryl was a member of the Pokeno Ladies Club and found happiness in shopping, baking, and arts and crafts; hobbies that she often shared with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Connie Talani, and her brother, Dennis Talani.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bud, her two sons, Jeff and Joe and their wives Erica and Catherine, one granddaughter, Irisa and two grandsons, Garrett and Jake. She also leaves behind several aunts and uncles, sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends whose lives she deeply touched.

Visitation for Cheryl will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Midlothian Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Midlothian Funeral Home. The committal service will follow at the Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster, TX.

As we say our final farewells to Cheryl, let us remember her not with sorrow but with gratitude for the love and warmth she brought into our lives.

We invite everyone who knew Cheryl to share their memories and photos on her memorial page. Let's keep Cheryl's legacy alive in our hearts. Your love, friendship, and support meant the world to her. Our family would like to thank you for standing with us during this time and for celebrating her life with us.
