Benito Charles Jr., also known as ‘Benny’ or ‘Bibi’, passed away on August 14, 2026. He was born on May 16, 1970, in Alice, TX to Idolina Garcia and Benito L. Charles Sr. Benny’s love for adventure and travel led him to numerous places, and no matter where he was, he made every place feel like home. He is preceded in death by his mother, Idolina Garcia and brother, Johnny Falcon. He is survived by his parents Benito L. Sr. and Genoveva Charles, beloved wife Rose Charles, sons Anthony and Adam Charles, daughters-in-law Michelle and Cynthia Charles, and grandchildren Mylah, Avah, and Christian Charles. He was also a beloved brother to Eva (Danny) Chapa, Elma (Sammy Ramirez) Charles, Rick Charles, Rene (Sheila) Charles, Sara (Dustin Baxter) Charles, Raymundo (Ida) Falcon, Liza (Carl) Nichols, Lynn (Rachel) Joslin, Jill (Ted) Hernandez, and Julie Nichols.
Benny was known for his humorous ways, infectious laughter, competitive spirit, genuine kindness, and giving heart. A jack of all trades and a man of many talents and interests, who was always keeping busy. On the weekends, if he wasn’t golfing, you could find him meticulously caring for his yard and plants or building and renovating something around the house. His love for Coors Light and Marlboro 100’s was legendary, and you could often find him BBQing at home, debating politics, talking a little playful trash talk, or enjoying a quick game of pool at the Oasis.
His adventurous spirit led him to explore the world through travel and always ready to take on the next challenge. Yet, no matter how far his journeys took him, his heart remained firmly rooted at home in the company of family and friends. Above all, his grandchildren were his greatest joy. He cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in his family. Benny lived life to the fullest, finding joy in the people he loves, the experiences he shared, and the memories made along the way. He leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and memories that will be cherished by those who loved him the most.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Midlothian Funeral Home. Viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes plants or other living tributes that can continue to grow in Benny’s memory.
