Alline Irene Simmons Obituary (1930

Alline Irene Simmons went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2017. She was born on March 21, 1930 to George Weisner and Mable Peak in Ogden, Kansas. Her mother passed away when she was four years old and her father passed away when she was nineteen years old. Alline spent her early years train hopping with her father and sleeping under newspapers for blankets while he picked up work from Kansas to Oregon. She even told us of the story when she slept in a tepee with a Native American woman that her father left her with for a day in Oregon while he worked. Her Uncle Ralph and Aunt Jessie who lived in Manhattan, Kansas, raised her most of her teenage years. After her father passed away, she moved to New York City for a year before returning back to Kansas. Alline was married to Kenneth Huling Simmons on February 14, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas. They remained married for 37 years until Kenneth passed away on October 13, 1990. Alline was a devoted wife and mother. Ken and Alline both were very family oriented individuals that taught their four children the importance of family. Alline was a devout Christian and loved the Lord very much. She spoke many times to her children of how she looked forward to getting to heaven to see the Lord. If there is one thing we will always remember her for is her smile. Even during her many years of battling Dementia she always found a way to give you that smile whenever you left from visiting her. Alline is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Huling and her beloved great granddaughter, Catherine Elizabeth Simmons. She is the last living relative of her generation on her husband's side of the family and her brother George Weisner and his wife Jean are the only living relatives left of her generation on the Weisner side. Many thanks and gratitude goes out to all of the many family and friends that have reached out to us on behalf of our mom. A very special thanks to our mom's caretakers at Midtowne in Midlothian, Texas and to Hospice that did such a great job caring for her in her final year. Alline is survived by two sons, Jerry Simmons and wife Colleen, Joey Simmons and wife Paula, two daughters, Jan Neef and husband Gary, Jill Heald and husband Steve, 10 grandchildren, Jason Neef and wife Melissa, Justin Neef and wife Alli, Cody Neef and wife Sydney, Josh Simmons and wife Elizabeth, Jennifer Bullinger and husband Matthew, Jodi Noll and husband Mario, Angela Morris and husband Seth, Sarah Erwin and husband Brandon, Clay Ainley and wife Letha, and Chad Ainley and wife Kimi, 23 great-grandchildren, Caleb Simmons, Kyle Simmons, Ann Marie Simmons, Catherine Simmons (deceased), Caroline Simmons, Hannah Simmons, Logan Bullinger, Abigail Bullinger, Cooper Bullinger, Reed Bullinger, Blaise Bullinger, Emma Bullinger, Ellie Noll, Luke Neef, Ryan Neef, Camryn Neef, Jackson Neef, Charlie Erwin, Emery Morris, Olivia Morris, Luke Ainley, Bridgette Ainley, and Emi Ainley.
